AAV

What does "AAV" mean? I'm assuming "AAV" means "average auction value." If so, I'm very glad to see that feature, but I would like it much more if it had a context.

Can someone tell me how this site's average auction value is determined? There are many factors involved in an auction (# of teams in the league, # of players on a team, # of players at each position, salary cap amount). Without a definition of those factors the AAV is meaningless.

For example, Drew Brees is listed with an AAV of "32." But "32" could mean many things. 32 percent of your salary cap? Or is it $32? If its dollars, $32 out of how large of a salary cap? $32 out of $200 is very different than $32 out of $100. If it's $32 out of a $200 salary cap, I would have to do some math to apply that amount to my own league, which has a $150 salary cap. In my league that $32 player would be worth $24. But if it's $32 out of a $100 salary cap, in my league that $32 player would be worth $48.

So for AAV to have any meaning, context is everything.

The answer is under the ADP thread.

It is $ value, and it's with $200.
